2009 PGA Merchandise Show
Working with our strategic partners, Green Duck has created 36V & 48V self-adhesive thin film solar panels that fits the existing roofs of most electric golf carts.  This package, which includes the thin film solar panel, custom charge controller, wiring and connectors, was designed to be self-installed in a matter of 20-30 minutes.  Now you can reduce your carbon footprint while saving money because you may never have to plug in!

Solar Golf Cart Specifications
The thin film solar panels are manufactured with a proprietary process and they are truly rollable unlike other thin film technologies that are only somewhat flexible.  They are the world's most rollable, lightweight and durable solar technology.  This product is made with professional marine-grade components and rugged UV-stabilized materials.

Ultra Lightweight
The thin film solar panels are all monolithically integrated which eliminates the damage-prone manual connections of individual solar cells.  This product is made of silicon, a natural resource in abundant supply.  The solar film is Cadmium Free, unlike other solar technologies, and performs well in diverse environments, including hot sun, and does not suffer from wasted over-voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I leave the thin film solar panel outside?
The thin film solar panel can be left outside permanently if maintained properly. It must be properly secured to avoid damage from high winds. Terminals should be kept clean and firmly connected.  You may leave the panel permanently connected to your battery since there is an included blocking diode in the junction box that blocks reverse draining of current from your battery. As with any permanent connection to a battery, safely clean the connection on a periodic basis as needed.

What if the thin film solar panel gets wet?
No problem.  The thin film solar panel is sealed in a weatherproof, Teflon type material that will protect it from the elements and damage.

Can I leave it outside in freezing temperatures?
Yes.  The thin film solar panel is safe to store and operate in extreme temperatures.

Do I need to disconnect the thin film solar panel when I start my golf cart or when I recharge the battery with an auxiliary power source?
You do not need to disconnect the thin film solar panel.

How do I clean the thin film solar panel?
Use a damp cloth with a mild soap solution and let dry thoroughly.
